When is Curbside Pickup available?
Pickup hours are as follows and by appointment only:

  • Wednesday: 10am-6pm
  • Thursday: 9am-4:30pm
  • Saturday: 10am-4:30pm

My account shows that my requested items are on hold. Can I come in and pick them up?
Curbside pickup is by appointment only. You may pickup items on hold, without an appointment, during our Pop-In Library hours.  

How do I request materials?
You can call us at 518-792-6508 to reserve materials, you can email us at CPLcurbside@sals.edu, or you can place holds through our library catalog

What if I would like a DVD, Blu-ray, magazine, or Hot Ticket? I can’t reserve any of those items. 
Call us at 518-792-6508x3 to check on availability of feature films, magazines, and Hot Ticket books.  We will take your information, and if the titles you requested are available, we will call you to arrange for a pickup time.

How do I make an appointment? 
When your items are available for pickup, we will call you to schedule a pickup time.

What is the process for pickup? 
Please bring your library card, or a photo ID with your name and address to the Glen St. Entrance so that we can verify your information.  We will have signs to direct you once you come to pick up your items.

Can I return items or donate books when I come to pick up? 
Items may be returned at the Glen St. walk-up book drop, or the drive-up book drop on Lapham Pl.  However, we are not accepting book donations at this time.

How many items am I allowed to request?
There will be a limit of 20 items per card.

But can’t I have up to 75 items out at a time?
Yes, you can.  However, this will be a busy service, and we need to accommodate as many people as possible.

I returned materials yesterday, and those items are still checked out on my card. Why?
Returned items must be quarantined for 96 hours to stop the potential spread of the virus.  Items will be held for four days after they are returned before being checked in.  You will not incur any fines during this period.

I don’t remember the name of the book I want, but I know where it’s located. Can I run in and get it? 
Unfortunately, no.  The Library must remain closed to the public until it is safe to fully restore all services.

Will I have access to items from other libraries? 
Yes, there is limited delivery services between SALS libraries. 

Can you pick out books for me?
Yes!  We will have Surprise Me! collections based on different genres and age levels, available as regular print books, large print books, audiobooks, DVDs, and Blu-rays.  Additionally, staff can curate a more personal selection of materials for you, but this service may take a few days. Submit a Surprise Me! request for the Adult & Teen collection or the Children's collection

Can I pick up books for someone else?
If you are unable to pick up your holds, please make staff aware that someone else will be coming on your behalf when you call to arrange for curbside delivery.  Please be aware that this person will need either your library card or your photo ID to pick up your materials.

I’ve got fines on my card. Can I pay them off when I pick up? 
We will not be able to handle account issues at the pick-up location.  If you have fines or bills on your account that you need to clear up, please call Customer Service at 518-792-6508x2.

I need to have a document printed. What can I do?
Black & white printing is available, at no cost, during curbside pickup while the Library is closed. All prints will be on 8.5" x 11" paper only. Printing is limited to 10 pages per person per day. Once your document has been printed, staff will contact you to schedule a pickup time. Submit a request here
