Crandall Public Library's Outreach service provides library materials to homebound patrons in the city of Glens Falls, the town of Queensbury, the village of South Glens Falls, and the town of Moreau.
Each month the Outreach Coordinator brings an assortment of large print books to the community rooms of local senior residences. Locations include The Cedars, Cronin High Rise, The Glen at Highland Meadow & The Terrace at The Glen, Harrison Terrace, Home of the Good Shepherd, The Landing (formerly Brookdale), Mallard’s Landing, Midtown Apartments, Solomon Heights, Westbrook, The Willows as well as Moreau Community Center. Please check with your local facility for dates, and times.
Visits to individual homes, The Pines, Warren Center, Glens Falls Center, and Stichman Towers are arranged on an individual basis.
In addition to large print books, audiobooks, Playaways, and music CDs are available upon request. DVDs are currently not available through the Outreach program.
Other services of interest are ebooks, digital audio books, and digital magazines. These services and more can be accessed from the Crandall Library homepage.

Print disabled patrons, or patrons with reading and/or learning disabilities may qualify for free services from the New York State Talking Book and Braille Library (TBBL). Download and print the application here: http://www.nysl.nysed.gov/tbbl/apply.htm By registering you can borrow items from the NYS Talking Book and Braille Library and request free books from the National Library Services (NLS) program.
The National Library Services for the Blind and Print Disabled is offering a Braille on Demand program where patrons can request one hardcopy braille book per month using this form: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/nlsbrailleondemand This is a book that patrons can keep.
