The Childrens’ Department offers free programming for kids birth-age 12. We have weekly storytimes, art times, and playgroups for young children. School-age offerings include art classes, science classes, “Read to a Therapy Dog”, and lots of special events on weekends and during school breaks.
Ongoing Programs for Infants, Toddlers, and Preschoolers:
Baby Lap Time
Wednesdays 2:30 pm-2:50 pm. Share interactive rhymes, songs and stories followed by group playtime. No siblings, please. For infants who are not yet walking. Call or stop by to register.
Moosical and More Family Storytime
Saturdays 10:00 am -10:30 am. Drop in for fun and interactive stories, songs, and movement. For families with young children birth-5. No sign up required.
- Thursdays 9:15-10:00 Toddler Playgroup 1: for walkers up to age 2
- Thursdays 10:15-11:00 Toddler Playgroup 2: For ages 2 and 3.

Preschool Art Time
Tuesdays and Wednesdays 11:00 am. Open-ended art projects for ages 3-5. You must call each morning of the program to register for that day.
Ongoing Programs for School-Age Children:
Tweens between the ages of 10 and 13 learn photography from professionals and exhibit their photos in the Folklife Gallery.
Read to a Therapy Dog
Kids 5 and up are invited to practice their reading one-on-one with a certified therapy dog. The dogs are great listeners! Call 518-792-6508 x 4 or stop by for list of openings and to register.
Tuesdays 3:30-4:30 pm. Kids in 1st grade and up can stop by for a new art project each week! No sign up required.
