August 1, 2024 Crandall Public Library is soliciting proposals from qualified firms of certified public accountants to audit the Library’s financial statements for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2024 with the option of auditing the Library’s financial statements for the five subsequent years.
Founded in 1892, the Crandall Public Library is the Central Library for the Southern Adirondack Library System, which serves the public libraries and residents of Hamilton, Saratoga, Warren and Washington Counties. The Library is governed by an elected Library Board of fifteen trustees. The primary source of funding for the Library is a special taxing district composed of The City of Glens Falls, The Town of Moreau, and The Town of Queensbury. The proposed 2025 budget for the Library is $5,801,768. A copy of the Library’s most recent audited financial statements is available upon request.
Evaluation of each proposal will be made as soon as possible with the award contingent upon approval of the Library Board of Trustees. The Library may elect to interview representatives from selected firms. All proposals become the property of the Library. The Crandall Public Library reserves the right to waive any informalities or irregularities in the Bids received or to reject any and all Bids without explanation.
Upon release of this RFP, three (3) copies of the Firm’s Proposal shall be placed in a sealed envelope, bearing the name and address of the Firm, and clearly marked with the words “Request for Proposal: Library Auditing Services”, and delivered to Kathleen U. Naftaly, Director, Crandall Public Library at 251 Glen Street, Glens Falls, NY 12801 on or before Friday, October 4, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. Email bids will not be accepted.
